Aaron King
Executive Director
Aaron King is the Executive Director at Trustwell Living of Overland Park. As the Executive Director, he oversees and directs the day-to-day functions and efficient operations of the community. Aaron is also responsible for ensuring the residents receive the highest level of quality care while creating a harmonious work environment for all team members.
Prior to joining Trustwell Living, Aaron was active in the hospitality industry managing some of the highest rated resorts in the nation including the Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe. In addition to his leadership and management as an Executive Director, Aaron received his license with the Kansas Adult Care Home Operations. He also has certifications in CPR and ServSafe management. Aaron is a graduate of Kansas State University where he obtained his degree in Hospitality Management along with a minor in Business. While at Kansas State University, Aaron played linebacker under Coach Snyder.
Aaron pursued a career in senior living because of his passion for customer service and wanted to make a difference in the lives of seniors. His favorite thing about working with residents and their families is to make sure that they are living a full life at the community. The happiness of the residents is always a top priority above all else.
Aaron has a strong bond and love for his dog, Sugar. She comes to work with Aaron every day and brings great joy to the residents and families. When you come to visit and tour the community, be sure to say hi to Sugar. She loves our residents, families and guests and is a big part of the community.

Nicole Rojas Vermes
Community Relations Director
Nicole Rojas Vermes is the Community Relations Director at Trustwell Living of Overland Park. As the Community Relations Director, she works closely with current and prospective residents and families to help provide solutions to meet their needs in assisted living or memory care. She also works closely to build strong relationships with local professionals in the area to educate and increase awareness for how the community can help seniors and their families in the area.
Nicole loves working with seniors and their families for many reasons. It started through the close relationship that she had with her grandparents and great grandparents. When she meets with prospective residents, she sees her own family in them. She has a true passion and respect for seniors and the life they have lived. She enjoys getting to know every resident’s story and feels blessed to be a part of such a special and important time in their lives. The biggest reward for her is seeing seniors smile and happy. Nicole expressed that she never knew what she wanted to be when she grew up, but always knew she wanted to do something that helped others and made a difference in the world. She feels grateful every night when she goes home knowing that she is making a difference in the lives of seniors and their families.
Nicole grew up in the Kansas City and attended Rockhurst University where she played soccer and earned her BSBA and MBA. She is married and has a 6-year-old son and a dog named Benito. Both her son and Benito enjoy visiting the residents every opportunity that they get.

Laura Mendez
Health Services Director – Assisted Living
Laura Mendez is the Health Services Director of Assisted Living at Trustwell Living of Overland Park. As the Health Services Director she works closely with current and prospective residents to assess them for care needs, ensures that care plans are being followed by the clinical care team and coordinates with other providers to ensure quality of life for our residents. Laura is passionate about resident care for seniors and strives to make a home-like atmosphere for the residents to receive the care they need through a caring and compassionate approach.
Laura brings an extensive health care background and experience to the community and its residents. Prior to joining Trustwell Living, she was an Assistant Director of Nursing, Wound Nurse and RN Charge Nurse at a skilled nursing facility. Laura is a graduate of Rasmussen University where she achieved her ADN RN degree and a graduate of Donnelly College where she achieved her LPN and BA in Organizational Leadership.
Through her experiences in senior living, Laura is passionate about providing quality care for residents. She takes the time to get to know each resident to learn about them personally and what their care needs are to deliver care based on the resident’s preferences and needs by paying special attention to the details. She enjoys making a difference in the lives of our residents to help improve the quality of their life.
In her spare time, Laura enjoys spending time with family and friends. She grew up in a large family so family is very important to her and enjoys spending time with her son, Malachi. In addition to spending time with family, Laura enjoys attending church on Sundays and traveling.

Kimberly Mendez Linares
Health Services Director – Memory Care
Kimberly Mendez-Linares is the Health Services Director of Memory Care at Trustwell Living of Overland Park. As the Health Services Director she works closely with current and prospective residents to assess them for care needs, ensures that care plans are being followed by the clinical care team and coordinates with other providers to ensure quality of life for our residents. Kimberly is passionate about resident care for seniors and strives to make a home-like atmosphere for the residents to receive the care they need through a caring and compassionate approach.
Kimberly brings an extensive health care background and experience to the community and its residents. Prior to joining Trustwell Living, she was an LPN, infection control prevention, and medical records clerk. Kimberly is a graduate of Rasmussen University where she achieved her ADN RN degree and a graduate of Donnelly College where she achieved her LPN and BA in Organizational Leadership.
While she enjoys many aspects of nursing, Kimberly is passionate about providing quality care for residents. She takes the time to build positive relationships with the residents and being a familiar face to them on a daily basis to deliver quality care in a caring and compassionate environment. She enjoys the stories of the residents and leaves work every day knowing that she made a difference in someone’s life.
Kimberly grew up in a large and supportive family so family is very important to her (fun fact…she is a twin). Kimberly is the mother of four amazing sons ranging in age from 5 to 17. In addition to spending time with family and friends, she enjoys traveling and eating spicy foods. On weekends, you’ll find her reading a good book with her husband, Asael and attending church on Sundays followed by a family dinner.
